Co-Curricular Activities

Active mind meetings are a safe and supportive space for students to share what’s going on in their personal lives and discuss ways to destigmatize mental health in our community. This group promotes awareness through green-out games, Wellness Day and connecting with other schools and organizations to support mental health. 

Students in Active Minds meet on Thursdays during lunch.

This club meets at lunch on the 1st Friday of the month in the Art Room.

Become an American Red Cross certified babysitter! Learn universal babysitting skills and techniques such as First Aid, age-appropriate activities and  care of children, and emergency preparedness.

Volunteer for Parents Night Out! This Club is for students in grades 7-9.

Creative Writing Club is a space you can express yourself! 

• Contribute to NDA’s literary magazine The Rebel Report.
• Learn about different writing styles
• Journal
• Build a writing community and a place to share ideas

• Intro meeting in December. This Club will meet during the Spring semester.

Open to students in grades 7-12. Try your hand at new styles or choreography! Learn combinations and work on technique.

What does cultural diversity mean to you? How can you help shape cultural appreciation at NDA? 

The intended purpose of the Notre Dame Diversity Club is to unite, enlighten, and bring awareness to the different cultures, traditions, and experiences amongst our student body. We focus not only on appreciating cultures, but also acknowledging the disparities and discriminations that affect members of our community today. This clubs desire is to “start the conversation” and take steps to shape more conscientious, aware, and educated young women prepared to act on behalf of peace and justice in our world and community.

Activities include : designing lesson plans, making announcements, brainstorming creative ideas for activities, collaborating with administration and faculty, leading meetings, giving presentations, watching educational videos, crafting and creating posters, organizing guest speaker events, hosting a Multicultural Holiday Fair, Coordinating a Black History Month Assembly, Supporting the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA).

This club meets on Tuesdays after school from 2:30 - 3 PM in Room 25. All are welcome!

The Fitness and Weight Training Club teaches proper exercise techniques, movement patterns, and muscle engagement. Members will learn the difference between using dumbbells and barbells for exercises.

Open to novice and advanced students in grades 7-12, the club meets Tuesday-Thursday from 2:20-3:00 PM in the Strength and Conditioning Center.

Glee Club  is the largest of the choral groups and performs at each concert.

Glee Club will meet in the Lauring Music Room on Tuesdays 7:15 - 7:55 AM, and  Fridays 2:20 - 3:00 PM

For All Instrumentalists!

Instrumental Ensemble – the largest ensemble consisting of all school instrumentalists including string, keyboard, wind and percussion players; performs at all concerts. This club meets on Thursdays from 3:00 - 3:40 PM.

Jazz Ensemble - usually traditional jazz instruments (saxophones, trumpets, trombones & rhythm section) but could also include flute, clarinet, string players and other instruments – performs at all concerts and other community functions including jazz competitions. 
This club meets on Tuesdays 2:30 - 3:00 PM, and Thursdays 2:20 - 3:00 PM.

Chamber Orchestra –mostly strings but could include wind and keyboard players – performs at all concerts. This club meets on Mondays from 2:20 - 3:00 PM, and Wednesdays 7:15  - 7:55 AM.

Flute Choir – consists of flute players (piccolo, alto flute, etc.) – performs at all concerts.

Guitar Ensemble –players at all levels from beginning to advanced – performs at all concerts. 

This club meets on Wednesdays from  2:05 - 2:45 PM.

Percussion Ensemble –all levels of players, from beginning to advanced – performs at all concerts. 
This club meets on Tuesdays from 3:00 - 3:40 PM.

Juniper Helps is a non-profit organization focused on distributing food through local schools to students and families who are most in need. We fund purchases of sustainable meals, snacks, and other essential items. This group is being started in support of some students Love-In-Action community service.

Meeting day will be decided by members - lunch time once a month!

In this club we will enjoy arts and crafts, karaoke, food tasting, movies and more!

Math can be fun! Join our Freshman & Varsity teams for 3-4 competitions a year (Oct–March).

Open to 9-12th graders for competitions. All students are welcome to practice with the team.

Join us to practice solving math competition problems and prepare for a middle school math meet. Open to 7th and 8th graders.

Bi-weekly Meetings Monday 7:30 AM starting in January, in room 35

Mock Trial is an inter-school competition team where members test their analytical and speaking skills in a simulated courtroom. Mock Trial helps students learn about the legal system, and allows students to explore the roles of individuals in court (witness, lawyer, judge) while at the same time helping to develop their ability to analyze evidence and present logical arguments.

This club is open to students in grades 9-12 and will meet  on Thursday's in Room 22.

The Notre Dame Academy Model United Nations organization is an extra-curricular program open to all Notre Dame students in grades 9 through 12. The program is part of the National High School Model United Nations program. Students participate in forming their own MUN delegation(s) at Notre Dame Academy and meet on a weekly basis. In addition, they take part in the annual Saint John’s Model United Nations program each October and the Boston College MUN in March. Once students are assigned a designated “nation” at a particular conference, they then prepare country profiles, committee research, position papers, introductory speeches and assume the role of delegates in order to solve real world issues on topics such as international human rights, nuclear non-proliferation and climate change.

Oxfam is a global organization working to end the injustice of poverty. With over 70 years of experience in more than 90 countries, Oxfam takes on the big issues that keep people poor: inequality, discrimination, and unequal access to resources including food, water, and land. Every year the Oxfam club hosts a banquet in our Student Center to raise funds for the Oxfam organization.
 

This club meets on Thursday's at 7:30 am in the Student Center during the Fall Semester.

PANDA stands for Prayerful Activities at Notre Dame Academy. The group meets to support and encourage the mission and activities of the Religion department. 

PANDA is focused on:

• Strengthening our community

• Deepening our faith in today's world
• Cultivating spiritual awareness
• Empowering students to make a meaningful difference

Is censorship helpful or harmful to society? Do animals have souls? What makes something beautiful? What role should AI play in our lives? Are “book smarts” or “street smarts” more important?

Rebels Run on Business, Notre Dame Academy’s Business and Marketing Club, offers students an exciting and dynamic environment to learn and explore the world of entrepreneurship, marketing, and business management. Through engaging hands-on projects and interactive workshops, club members will gain valuable skills in leadership, teamwork, marketing, sales, financial literacy, and creative problem-solving.

The club provides real-world experiences and meaningful networking opportunities to prepare students for future success. NDA alumnae frequently visit the club to share their career journeys and insights since graduating, offering students inspiration and guidance for their own professional paths.

Rebels Run on Business members play an active role in supporting the important work of the school's Advancement Office by assisting with fundraising, marketing initiatives, communications, and enrollment efforts. Additionally, club members take on responsibilities in managing the NDA Campus Store, including staffing, merchandising, and inventory management.

This club meets at 7:30 AM on Thursdays.

The Science Club introduces students to science related careers while enriching their knowledge of science. We feature in-house labs and guest lectures. Our hope is to broaden our students’ exposure to science, while building connections in the community.

Please note: attendance at 4 meetings this year are required for students pursuing NDA's STEM certificate.

This club meets on the first Tuesday of each month, afterschool in the Student Center.

Advisors: The Science Department: 

This club will plan service projects that will impact our community and the community around us.  Some ideas could include planting flowers on campus, food or clothing drives, reaching out to organizations like the JCC or Girls, Inc. to bring students for a day of volunteering on site.

This club will meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

This club will meet on Tuesday's from 4:00 pm - 8:00 PM  at Wachusett Mountain during the months of January and February. The first day of ski club is Tuesday, January 9th.

Students involved in the sport management club will obtain academic knowledge and practical experiences that foster an understanding of and appreciation for the sport industry. Students in this club will assist in the operations of the Athletic Department, and include marketing and development, event planning and operations as well as athletic team manager positions and game day roles.

Student Council is an organization conducted by students with faculty supervision. The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community. Representatives are elected to their positions on Student Council yearly.

Each grade level is represented in our Student Council. These students coordinate most of our school's large assemblies and events. Here are just a few of our yearly Student Council hosted events:

Students in Yearbook Club play an active role in all stages of yearbook planning and production! Our student yearbook staff learn important skills ranging from time management & reaching deadlines, to marketing and editing.

Activities include: Taking and collecting photos, choosing themes, fonts, colors, and page layouts attending school events, writing and editing.

This club will meet afterschool in the Learning Commons on Tuesdays at 2:30 PM.

In this club students will explore all aspects of theater will learning the process of putting on a production. We will also learn about lighting,  practice public speaking, play improv games, watch significant musicals, and most importantly HAVE FUN!
